2010 Year in Review…

At the end of each year we see TV specials, magazines, etc. recapping the year’s notable events.  We reminisce about the good times and tough times experienced in the last 12 months.  It is good to see how far we’ve come, how much fun we had, and take a look at where we need to improve. This is my version of 2010 year in review.  I meet some wonderful people in my line of work.  Many of my clients are hard-working professionals who just want to get ahead financially.  They are your next door neighbors who will one day be millionaires because of their newfound diligence with money.  They are your kids’ teachers, your relatives, your friends, your boss, or the family in the grocery line ahead of you.  Maybe you are my client!  I am thankful for each relationship that is brought my way and desire to help clear the way for financial freedom to be everyone’s!

Here are just a few of the victories I witnessed as a budget coach in 2010…

  • An engaged couple came to me at a critical time in their lives.  They wanted to enter their marriage with no new debt.  They wanted to pay for their wedding without credit cards.  They wanted to lay a strong foundation for success in their relationship.  Each month we reviewed both the wedding and personal budgets, made adjustments, and discussed success strategies.  As a result of their faithfulness to a written plan, when they get married next month, their $25,000 wedding will be paid in full!
  • A single female client paid off $66,000 in debt in 2 years!  She loves to give to others, but this time it put her in debt.  Consistency with her budget gave her the discipline she needed to enter 2011 with NO DEBT!!
  • A couple who struggled with debt for more than 20 years finally made the decision to stop the craziness and get serious.  Just by paying attention to the numbers and following their debt reduction plan they paid off more than $10,000 in 6 months!

These are just a few of my client success stories.  Everyone’s win is different because each situation is different.  But, here’s the deal… You can do it too!  Create a plan, hold yourself accountable, and execute!
