Did you root for the underdog?

I did!  Yep everyone is talking about this historic Super Bowl LII.  I’ll bet most Philadelphia Eagle fans were rooting for their team but quietly thought the New England Patriots would win.  I mean they’ve been to a historic 10 Super Bowls (no other team has even been that many times) and won 5 Super Bowls.  The odds were clearly stacked against the Eagles.  Now typically I will say that I’m not really a big Pro football fan.  In my house we love the Michigan Wolverines because it is my Alma mater and of course we are originally from Michigan.  One would think I’d want Tom Brady to win it all.  But I love a good underdog story.  There is just something inspiring about the small guy winning that makes me feel like I can do it too.  The little guy isn’t so little anymore when he brings home the trophy.  You can’t assume you know the outcome when hard work and opportunity meet.  The one that you least expect to rise to the top can surprise you.  They certainly did last night!

Here’s the deal… as of today I’ve been in business for 13 years!  Woot woot!  To be honest I had no clue where God was taking me on my entrepreneurial journey when I began.  I simply decided to be obedient and start a business.  I was consistent and worked hard trying to help others with their finances.  During this time, I’ve witnessed marriages restored, single moms breath a sigh of relief, tons of debt paid off, and future financial outcomes shine brighter.  Being a small business owner is not easy.  Getting out of debt isn’t easy either.  But you just might surprise yourself and those around you when you put in the hard work that it takes to get free of debt and begin to create the future you really desire.

I challenge you this month to revisit your goals for 2018.  If you haven’t created any goals yet take a moment to reflect on what is important to you and define your priorities for the year.  I’m sure after the Super Bowl each year the pro football teams begin a new game plan in hopes to make it to the super bowl and win.  The Eagles executed that plan and the world witnessed their winning result.  Now I ask you, what will be your game plan?  What do you want to see in your finances next year that you currently aren’t experiencing?  It is time to put your game plan into gear and make it happen!  You might be the underdog in your finances, but you can soar just like the Eagles!

Let me know if you need to some help creating a plan of action.  I’m always here to help.  To set up some time to chat for 30 minutes check out my calendar here.
