PLEASE READ: COVID Funeral Expenses Reimbursement
The last 14 months have been an unbelievable roller coaster ride. This pandemic has changed our lives forever. From the nation-wide shutdown, the inability to get access to personal protective equipment, food and supply shortages, hospitalizations, lost wages, and jobs, hurried vaccines, and ultimately to the tragic loss of over 3 million lives around the globe; this is not what we expected to see in March of 2020 at all.
Here in the United States, we’ve lost over 500,000 lives. We all know someone who has been affected in some way by this pandemic. This is not news to you, I’m sure.
But here’s what may be news to you. Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. This means that as of April 12th, you can apply for reimbursement of funeral expenses if you’ve paid for the funeral expenses of a loved one who died due to COVID-19.
I want everyone to get this information so please forward this email to friends and family.
There are guidelines of course. Here is the link to get all of the details, eligibility, guidelines, phone numbers, and documentation needed.
As a financial coach, I want to help you use your money well and strategize so it goes further. This is one way to ensure you recapture funds incurred by this global emergency and loss.
I pray this is helpful and provides relief in this challenging time. Since we don’t have a deadline or cap on reimbursements, I would encourage you to act swiftly in case things change. Be patient since all applications are taken by phone.
