Ignorance Is Not Bliss

Have you ever felt overwhelmed or afraid when thinking about your finances? Let’s not even talk about budgeting.  People simply hate the word: budget.  The reality is many people feel the same way.  You are not alone.  Let’s meet a recent Beyond the Budget Graduate, Clara.

Clara didn’t dare to look at her bank statements or even try to think past the current month’s bills. Each time she tried to get her finances in order, she became frustrated and overwhelmed with the amount of work it took to just get up to date. In her mind, it was much easier to ignore it. Out of sight, out of mind, right? It was much easier that way. Or so she thought...

Clara made a decent salary, but at times there didn’t seem to be enough for the entire month. She would use her credit card to cover the remaining bills or expenses. As time went on, her debt kept growing. The stress of her finances began to affect her overall well-being. She wasn’t getting the sleep her body needed and she wasn’t enjoying her hard-earned income at all.

One day, she had the courage to share her situation with one of her friends. Her friend suggested that she look into this program called Beyond The Budget. Clara thought to herself, yeah right this isn’t for me. There is no way I can go beyond the budget because I can’t even stick to a budget!

Clara continued on until one day she got fed up with going around in circles so she enrolled in the program!

The first week Clara was nervous and even thought about withdrawing, however, once she saw how each lesson was broken into small bite chunks, she thought to push past the resistance.

Each week she was able to login and complete her lessons on her own time. She found it best to do this on Saturday mornings with a fresh cup of coffee. By Monday, she was ready to tackle that week’s homework assignment and put the lessons into practice.

Clara learned valuable lessons like…

  • The important of setting goals.

  • How to organize her finances.

  • Most importantly, how to get out of debt AND to keep it that way!

Slowly, Clara went from feeling hopeless and defeated to feeling like she had a game plan to tackle this debt. Over those 4 weeks, she kept getting more and more momentum. She even paid off her first credit card!

Fast forward to today, Clara not only has the tools to stick to her budget but also sees her DEBT-FREE DATE in the near future!

Can you relate to Clara? Do you feel like there is never enough money for the month? If so, I just want to let you know that you are not alone. If you are ready to make a turn-around, check out my “Beyond the Budget” online course here and finally get a handle on your money.
