Sometimes dreams really do come true!
Nearly 17 years ago, I started my business Tailor-Made Budgets. Back then I wasn’t sure if this was a viable business or if anyone would pay me to help them with a budget. I constantly had to explain what coaching was and why accountability was so powerful. There weren’t a lot of people doing this work either. I didn’t have a lot of spaces to discuss the ups and downs of a coaching practice because most people didn’t understand what that was.
Today, I’ve grown a tribe of followers like you and found spaces where being a coach doesn’t feel like an island. One of those spaces is Coach Enrichment at Ramsey Solutions. Here, we have the opportunity to meet other coaches, share best practices, and learn from powerful speakers. Last week was no exception. Over 400 coaches came to Nashville, while another 1000 tuned in online to be a part of the experience. We heard from Dr. Henry Cloud, John Maxwell, the Ramsey Personalities, and of course, Dave Ramsey. It was a good time to say the least.
One of the major takeaways for me came from John Maxwell’s session. He said, “Your ability to lead will determine the lid or cap on your business.” In other words, my business will grow to the size of my leadership. Said another way, to help more people in the personal finance space, I must nurture and strengthen my leadership potential. I absolutely enjoy helping families create a financial future they can be proud of. Now I see that helping more people requires me to pull on my leadership capabilities.
During my time in Nashville, I also attended a reception at Dave Ramsey’s home with all of the VIP coaches!! This was a dream come true! Yes, his home was lovely. But the real impactful moments included the hospitality of both Dave and his wife Sharon and how open he was as he engaged all of his guests. You can tell he enjoys hosting gatherings. He is down-to-earth and super easy to talk to. I’m so thankful for that opportunity, and it strengthens my view of Dave and his company. Nothing but a class act!
In addition to Coach Enrichment, I also attended FinCon2021 in Austin, TX. FinCon is where about 2,000 money influencers come together and learn from one another. It is put on entirely by the FinCon community, so we teach each other with our own content. There are bloggers, podcasters, media personalities, advisors, entrepreneurs, coaches, and so much more. We are all there to share a positive money message to our communities. This year there were over 100 speakers either in person or online.
And I was one of them!! I spoke to 60-70 people about how to grow a coaching business. I had so much fun sharing my expertise and helping others grow their businesses. Again, this was a dream come true! 5 years ago, when I attended my 1st FinCon I admired the speakers and looked up to them. Being onstage reminded me that we all must start somewhere and as we grow, we can help others do the same.
I don’t know what your dream is, but I encourage you to keep pursuing it. You never know who your journey will impact. Someone else needs to know you can do it, including yourself. I believe in you and hope this serves as your reminder that anything and everything is possible.
